COM7 and COM8

Two new multiplexes provide viewers with Freeview HD or YouView equipment or an EE TV box with access to additional channels through their aerial.

COM7 and 8 broadcast to just over 70% of UK households*, using frequencies which have been dormant since digital switchover. Coverage is broadly similar, although there are a few locations where one and not the other is available.

What's available on the extra multplexes?

Are these channels available to all viewers?
No. Only viewers with Freeview HD equipment or YouView/EE TV boxes, who live in the coverage area of the transmitters listed below.

Am I in the coverage area for these channels?
Viewers can check local Freeview coverage and available channels, based on the transmitters that should be receivable at any given location at www.digitaluk.co.uk/coveragechecker

Look out for the "Channels available at your address" header on the coverage checker results page, and look to see if "BBC Four HD" appears in the list, for example.
