Hochanda secures seven year Freeview carriage deal

Hochanda has secured its place on the Freeview platform for the next seven years.

The arts and craft shopping channel has signed a multi-year deal with multiplex operator SDN (a subsidary of ITV), ensuring carriage on the platform until 2026.

The Freeview capacity provided by SDN ensures Hochanda remains available to nearly 19 million homes across the UK.

Hochanda is available on Freeview channel 85 until 7pm daily. The channel first launched in the UK in 2015, originally appearing on Freeview using capacity sublet from ITV's now defunct "The Store" channel, before moving to its own slot on channel 85 in 2016. It reduced its evening hours on Freeview a year later.

Ross Appleton, Managing Director of SDN, said:
I'm really pleased that Hochanda have extended their commitment to Freeview, and to SDN. It's fantastic news that our partnership is set to continue into the 2020s, and that viewers across the UK will continue to be able to enjoy Hochanda's programming on the UK's largest TV platform.
