Sky and Virgin users get UHD access to MTV EMAs

Sky and Virgin viewers will be able to watch this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Ultra HD.

The MTV EMAs 2018 celebrates musical artists from around the world and will broadcast live from Bilbao, Spain, across MTV’s 60 international TV channels and digital platforms on 4th November 2018.

It will be the second year running that Sky will take the MTV EMAs UHD feed, while for Virgin, it's a first.

Sky viewers will be able to access MTV EMAs UHD on Sky Q boxes via an on-screen prompt on MTV HD.

Virgin TV viewers will be able to watch coverage on Virgin Media's recently launched Ultra HD channel.

Arran Tindall, SVP Commercial and Content Distribution, Viacom International Media Networks said:
“We’re always looking for new opportunities to engage and inspire audiences and UHD is the latest offering with which to do that, so it’s important for us to be right at the forefront of this technology. We have longstanding partnerships with Sky and Virgin Media and are excited to have secured the UHD agreements with them, allowing fans watching on their TVs to see their favourite acts at the MTV EMAs 2018, up close and personal, with brilliant clarity.”
