Rapid adoption of new DAB+ logo


As shoppers hit the web and high street, a new logo for DAB+ radios has proved to be popular among retailers and manufacturers.

One month on from its official worldwide launch, major consumer electronics manufacturers across Europe have now started displaying the new logo on their packaging, in an aligned effort to benefit from the growing adoption of DAB+ in Europe and beyond. 

In the event of a digital radio being on the wish list, the new DAB+ logo (pictured above), indicates that buyers can expect the device to handle both traditional DAB radio broadcasts as well as a growing number of DAB+ broadcasts on national, local and small-scale DAB multiplexes in the UK, as well as digital radio broadcasts across many parts of Europe.

Manufacturers using the logo in marketing and point of sale material to date include but are not limited to PURE, Pioneer, SONY, Panasonic, Sonoro, Grundig, Dual, Kenwood, with other leading manufacturers set to follow later this year and in the near future, according to industry body WorldDAB, who is overseeing the roll-out of the new logo.

The new DAB+ logo was introduced by WorldDAB to replace the black and white logo and help improve consumer recognition of DAB+.
