Fox HD joins TVPlayer

Streaming service TVPlayer has confirmed the arrival of Fox as part of a growing number of HD pay TV channels on the platform.

Fox is now available to TVPlayer Plus subscribers on the Lite and Max packages, meaning subscribers can watch shows such as The Walking Dead or The Cleveland Show live on linear TV or via catch-up.

In addition to being available in HD, it is also part of TVPlayer's one month free trial offer.

Other HD channels now available on TVPlayer include History, Lifetime, Crime+Investigation and MTV. The platform was for many years SD only.

TVPlayer's premium service can be subscribed to on a rolling monthly or annual basis and can be accessed on a variety of connected devices, including PCs, mobiles, tablets and streaming services such as Roku and Apple TV, although channel availability may vary across devices and some programmes on some channels are blanked out due to rights issues.

The Fox TV channel in the UK is part of Fox Networks Group, whose owner 21st Century Fox lost out on its bid to control Sky ahead of a takeover by Disney, removing any incentive to keep the channel exclusive to Sky's streaming service Now TV.

In 2016, Fox was removed from BT TV, but could return next year if it's still available on Now TV when Now TV becomes integrated with BT TV.

Fox is also available on Sky, Virgin TV and TalkTalk TV.
