New look for Animal Planet


Discovery's Animal Planet channel is to receive a new look from the end of October.

The US and UK versions of the channel will be first to adopt the new branding, including a new on-screen logo, from 28th October 2018.  Other national versions of channel around the world will be changing their on-screen look before the end of March 2019.

Animal Planet appointed Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv (CGH), an an independent New York-based graphic design firm specializing in the development of trademarks and identity programs, to design the Animal Planet global brand mark which is optimised for use across multiple platforms, responsive in digital and allows for the brand to diversify into products and services. The result can be seen in the picture above.

  • Animal Planet is available in the UK on Sky channel 162, Virgin Media 256, BT and Plusnet TV channel 325 and Wight Fibre channel 117. It can be streamed as part of the subscription service TVPlayer Plus via tvplayer.com and mobile apps. In the Republic of Ireland, Animal Planet is broadcast on Sky channel 190, Virgin Ireland 213 and Eir Vision 523.
