ITV3+1 Freeview hours cut as CITV expands

ITV3+1 will have its service hours on Freeview reduced from Wednesday 26th, as CITV expands.

Both channels share capacity on the digital terrestrial television platform, but CITV has so far not been able to offer its full service. Until now, CITV has closed on Freeview at 6pm, but continued on cable and satellite platforms until 9pm.

The move to change CITV's hours mean it will now match CBBC's closing time of 9pm.

As a result, ITV has confirmed that ITV3+1's hours will reduce from the 26th September, and will only be available on channel 34 between 21:00 and 00:00, once CITV has finished for the night.

The full ITV3 service continues on channel 10 as normal.

The changes also affect services that piggyback on the Freeview signal, including BT TV, EE TV, Plusnet TV and TalkTalk TV.

There are no changes on satellite and cable platforms.
