Sky Sports takes Ascot coverage from Racing UK

Sky Sports is to show live racing from Ascot in the latest rights deal to boost its forthcoming new channel.

Sky Sports Racing, which is due to launch in early 2019, will broadcast Ascot's 25 annual fixtures starting from March 2019, previously shown on Racing UK.

At The Races will manage UK streaming for betting rights for the racecourse as part of the agreement with Ascot, which will run until at least 2021.

Ascot joins Sky Sports Racing's global rights portfolio, which includes the Boodles Chester May Festival, William Hill St Leger, Coral Welsh Grand National as well as the Breeders' Cup, US Triple Crown, Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

On linear pay TV, Sky Sports Racing will replace the 'At The Races' channel in the new year.

The rights deal is separate to ITV's free-to-air horse racing deal, which includes coverage of Royal Ascot until 2021.
