Fight Network launches new UK TV service

The channel has soft-launched in the UK, via the Showcase TV service on Sky and Freesat.

Already available across the US, Canada, the Caribbean and parts of Europe, the service promises to offer UK viewers "complete coverage of combat sports".

Some of the featured programming on Fight Network in the UK will include weekly episodes of IMPACT Wrestling – which features wrestling superstars such as Scott Steiner, Austin Aries and Eli Drake on its roster – as well as Ultimate Challege MMA, Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, WGP kickboxing and Wrestling at the memorable historical moments.

As part of the deal with Showcase TV, Fight Network has taken a number of late evening slots, mostly from 9pm until midnight, with variations throughout the week.

Peter Einstein, COO of Anthem Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of Fight Network said he was "delighted" to expand the channel's global footprint to the UK.
Ed Nordholm, president of IMPACT Wrestling added that based on popular demand, IMPACT Wrestling fans in the UK can now watch the weekly show "contemporaneous with its North American broadcast premiere", as well as replays in primetime.

Showcase TV is available free-to-air on Sky channel 192 and Freesat channel 161 and offers third party operators a chance to try out the UK market prior to committing to launching a full-time standalone service.
