Recently launched Love Sport radio requests format change

It only launched a few weeks ago, now Love Sport, the speech-based station for London, has requested a format change.

In a submission to Ofcom, the station, which replaced the old Spectrum 558 service, has confirmed it wants to change its format to allow it to focus more on sport.

Currently, the format dictates that Love Sport is a speech service focusing on "business, finance, sport, entertainment, current affairs and essential information". The broadcaster wants to change this to a speech station focussing on sport "plus some topical content and local information".

The format for the station was last changed last October, when it was allowed by Ofcom to flip to an all-speech format in preparation for the switch from Spectrum to Love Sport.

Ofcom is seeking views on the request before 1st June 2018.
