New look for Universal TV channel

NBCUniversal's premium entertainment channel has unveiled a new look, to be rolled out around the world.

As part of the change, which started in the UK on Thursday, the Universal Channel becomes Universal TV, with a new logo and on-screen look.

The new branding will be rolled out around the world in the coming weeks and months, with South Africa switching to the new look on 10th May 2018, with Australia, Brazil, Germany and Latin America to follow.

London-based Red Bee Media worked with NBCUniversal for the new look. According to the blurb, the refresh intends to create "a bold, new, contemporary brand identity across all linear, digital and social platforms — including a new logo, typeface and fresh color palette."

Lee Raftery, chief marketing and content officer and managing director U.K. and emerging markets at NBCUniversal International said:
"In making this latest investment in Universal — combined with the raft of top-quality shows we have recently acquired — we're reinforcing our commitment to delivering a must-watch destination for affiliate partners and viewers, alike."
