Free-to-access coverage of Champions & Europa League finals


BT has announced free-to-access coverage of the 2017-18 UEFA Champions League and Europa League finals.

It will the first time that the finals will not been shown on a free-to-air basis on a terrestrial platform, with BT having previously aired the finals on its little known BT Showcase Freeview channel since taking the rights from ITV at the end of the 2014-15 season.

Liverpool take on Real Madrid in Kiev (Kyiv) in this year's Champions League final on 26th May.  Kick-off is at 19:45 BST.

YouTube coverage will also be available in 4K/UHD.

The UEFA Europa League final between Atletico Madrid and Marseille on Wednesday 16th May 2018 will also be made available online to millions of additional fans who do not yet subscribe to BT Sport via the same methods as listed above. Kick-off is at 19:45 BST.

BT TV subscribers can watch the game on traditional TV, via on BT Sport 2 (HD) and BT Sport 4K UHD. BT Sport subscribers will also be able to enjoy 360 highlights on the app throughout the game.

A new rights deal between UEFA and BT means that BT is no longer obliged to showcase a number of Champions League and Europa League games for free. BT had previously done this via its relatively low-profile BT Showcase Freeview channel, which has been wound down in previous months.
