VoD service HistoryHit to roll-out to Apple and Amazon devices

HistoryHit, the on-demand streaming service hosted by television personality Dan Snow is to be added to Apple TV and Amazon Fire.

It follows the launch of the service late last year on iOS mobile and tablets, Android devices, and desktop computers at www.historyhit.tv.

The Subscription Video on Demand (SVoD) channel provides history buffs with new original programmes featuring the world’s leading historians and an extensive library of licensed documentaries. 10% of its profits will be donated to history education programs around the world. 

The service is being powered by Simplestream's VOD-in-a-Box product. The London-based company are already behind a number of popular live and on-demand services. According to Simplestream, roll-out of HistoryHit.TV across Apple TV and Amazon Fire devices will take place in the 2nd quarter of 2018.
