Juice Brighton acquired by Global

Update | The owner of some of the UK's biggest radio brands has confirmed it's acquiring Brighton station Juice 107.2

Global's takeover deal - the value of which hasn't been specified - is expected to complete next month. The company is behind stations including Heart, Smooth and Capital, and is currently in the middle of an acquisition spree to extend reach of its main brands across the UK.

Juice covers Brighton and Hove on FM and across Sussex on the local DAB digital radio multiplex. Additionally, the station currently has a slot on the Brighton small-scale DAB multiplex.

Ashley Tabor OBE, Founder & Executive President of Global, said:
“This is an exciting station to acquire for Global and we look forward to fulfilling the station’s successful future.”
Global hasn't yet confirmed what it intends to do with Juice in the long term, given its track record of converting stations to one of its own. So far, Global already offers Heart Sussex and Smooth Sussex on local DAB in the region, plus London-based Gold. A localised version of hit radio station Capital is currently missing from the local area, with Global currently offering Capital UK on the Sussex DAB multiplex. Heart Sussex also broadcasts on FM in the Brighton and Hove area. Smooth Sussex is already available on Medium Wave.

Late last year the company purchased The Bay and Lakeland Radio in NW England. The Bay is to became part of the Heart network, while Lakeland Radio is to become Smooth Radio in March.
