Sony adds Movie timeshift to Freeview

Primetime movies an hour later: Sony Pictures Television has launched a timeshift of its movie channel on Freeview.

Available as part of the signal that delivers local TV channels across 34 different areas of the UK, Sony Movie Channel +1 is available on channel 50, wherever viewers can receive a local TV channel on either 7 or 8.

The channel is active on Freeview from 10pm to 6am, meaning the main 9pm movie can be seen an hour later, followed by the channel's choice of late night films.

The main full-time Sony Movie service on Freeview channel 32 continues as normal.

As a byproduct of the Sony Movie Channel +1 change, Movies4Men+1, previously available in Manchester on Freeview channel 50 has ceased.

To make way for the new service, Sony Pictures Television has decided to cease broadcasting children's channel Tiny POP overnight on Freeview. Tiny POP and Sony Movie Channel +1 timeshare using the same broadcast capacity.
