Bloomberg goes HD on Sky

Global business network Bloomberg has launched in high definition on Sky following several weeks of tests.

It's the first high definition version of Bloomberg Television being distributed via satellite in Europe. Sky HD viewers will now see Bloomberg HD on channel 502, replacing the standard definition channel. For HD viewers, the standard definition version shifts to channel 692, within a second overspill area for news channels on the Sky EPG.

The channel is broadcast free-to-air and can be manually tuned in on non-Sky satellite receivers able to receive services from the Astra 2G satellite at 28 degrees East.

Bloomberg HD is just the latest news channel to go high definition on Sky, with the platform now boasting the largest number of HD news channels in the UK. Meanwhile the next HD news channel to join Sky is still testing off the EPG - Turkey's international English language channel TRT World HD began tests several weeks ago.
