February Freesat launch for Talking Pictures

Vintage film channel Talking Pictures has confirmed its impending arrival on Freesat, where it will be available on channel 306.

Talking Pictures will join Freesat at the beginning of February. The channel specialises in independent archive films, featuring vintage films from the early days of cinema.

It's arrival on Freesat has been long-awaited - it has been available free-to-air on satellite since its launch, but not included on the Freesat channel list -  and is the latest step in a rapid expansion of the channel since its launch in May 2015. It's already available on Sky and in parts of the UK via Freeview, for viewers with newer devices. Virgin Media is the last major platform without the channel.

  • Update: Talking Pictures says it expects to appear on the Freesat EPG during the course of the 2nd February.
