R2 Eurovision: No DAB EPG for BBC national radio

The BBC has advised DAB digital radio listeners who use a set with 7 day Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), that the guide will not be broadcast for several days as a result of bandwidth being used for temporary station BBC Radio 2 Eurovision.

The EPG will not be available to update from Wednesday 20th May to Sunday 24th May inclusive.

BBC Reception advises listeners:
"as this is a 7-day guide, the majority of DAB EPG enabled receivers should retain the EPG (if they were updated before 20th May).  The service will be resumed on Monday 25th May.  We apologise to any listeners who may not have been able to update their guide."

In related news, the Daily Service will not be available to DAB listeners on Friday 22nd May because of the extra bandwidth needed for BBC Radio 2 Eurovision.

Details about this year's BBC Radio 2 Eurovision service, is available here.

  1. I didn't even know there is a DAB EPG. How many radios are capable of using it?

  2. Only of my very first DAB Radios, has the EPG. The Pure Bug Too :)
