Freeview football bonus as Quest covers Dubai Challenge Cup

Freeview channel Quest is to simulcast the Dubai Challenge Cup 2014 football fixture between reigning European Cup champions Real Madrid and Italian team AC Milan with British Eurosport on Tuesday 30th December, in a free-to-view sporting bonus.

In a change to the schedules published in Christmas and New Year listings guides, the one-off footballing spectacle will be simulcast on Quest and British Eurosport for the first time. Quest says it is "to give more viewers the chance to tune into the heavyweight clash that brings down the curtain on another great sporting year."

The match takes place on Tuesday 30th December from the 40,000 capacity Sevens Stadium in Dubai – and has already sold out. Coverage will start at 3:45pm GMT on Quest and British Eurosport with host Rob Curling and studio guests Gaizka Mendieta and Trevor Francis.

Quest began broadcasting live sports coverage earlier this year after owner Discovery Communications took a majority shareholding in Eurosport.

Quest is broadcast on Freeview and YouView channel 37, Sky channel 167 and Virgin Media channel 172. The match is available in HD on British Eurosport, via Sky HD channel 410, Virgin Media HD channel 522 and BT YouView channel 521.
