BBC DAB boosted as 12 more transmitters are brought into service

Coverage is boosted in the Burnham Villages of North Norfolk
The BBC has released details of twelve new DAB digital radio transmitters which have been brought into service over the past two months, part of an ongoing exercise to boost the coverage of the BBC's national radio stations on the DAB platform in both rural and urban areas.

Nearly 80,000 homes have been added to the BBC DAB coverage area for the first time, and thousands more homes have had their reception improved through the additional transmitters.

Among the new coastal coverage areas are North Norfolk (the coast and locations inland around Wells-next-the-Sea and the Burnham villages) plus Lyme Regis and Budleigh Salterton (boosting reception along the Dorset and South Devon coastline).

A new transmitter at Saddleworth boosts reception for half a million households around the fringe of the Peak District into Greater Manchester. City Centre coverage in Coventry is boosted through the addition of a BBC DAB transmitter on Samuel Vale House.
