Help and advice
You can check which Freeview channels should be available in your area on the official Digital UK postcode checker. The channels that you will be able to receive is also dependent on the state of your aerial, cabling and the type of receiver you use.
If you need assistance with an aerial installation, the Get Me Digital website contains a directory of tradespeople across the UK.
These are unaffiliated links, provided as a service to readers. a516digital is not responsible for the content of external sites.
Multiplex capacity
Available multiplex capacity provides an early indication of whether there is any bandwidth available for any new Freeview channels, without having to replace existing services.
In August, Multiplex operator Arqiva offered further standard definition TV slots on Freeview, reportedly available from mid-November. Interested parties were invited to partake in a competitive bidding process. UKTV appear to have taken one slot, to be used for Dave Ja Vu from 1st December. Film 4+1 moves off Arqiva's COM6 multiplex and onto PSB3/BBC-B (see changes above).
On the PSB3/BBC-B multiplex, there is sufficient capacity for multiple standard definition services or one further HD channel.
Capacity sufficient for one further standard definition channel is currently unused on the COM7 multiplex, based on the current configuration (13/11/2014).
