BT Sport to stage second Freeview evening

BT Sport will be open to Freeview viewers on channel 57 for a second Freeview evening. This time, it's rugby fans that will benefit from the latest free-to-air sport channel sampler.

On Friday 13th September, BT Sport will be showcasing its rugby coverage free-to-air, with live coverage of Harlequins v Northampton in the Aviva Premiership between 7pm and 10pm.

BT Sport first went free-to-air on 1st August; its launch day. Sky Sports responded by offering 11 hours of Sky Sports 1 free via Pick TV on Freeview and YouView on the 17th August.

BT Sport Preview on Freeview channel 57 is a temporary service using the old Top Up TV ESPN bandwidth. BT Sport for paying subscribers is on channels 58 and 59 for viewers with a Vision+ box and on channel 507/8 (510/11 in HD) on BT TV with Infinity broadband.

The free Rugby coverage will also be shown on BT Sport for viewers with Sky or Virgin Media, where the existing BT Sport 1 channel will be switched to free-to-view.
