BBC adds Red Button service to Freesat EPG

There’s an update to this story

Freesat viewers can now access the BBC Red Button via the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG), bringing the service in line with Freeview.

With immediate effect, the BBC Red Button HD channel, which mirrors Freeview HD channel 303, is available on channel 980 on HD receivers only. The regular BBC Red Button service, which mirrors Freeview channel 301, is on channel 981 on all Freesat receivers.

The move enables viewers to quickly select and record Red Button content, which this month includes Springwatch, Tennis from Queens and Wimbledon.

The BBC is still testing two additional streams on Eutelsat 28A, thought to be for extra Glastonbury coverage later this month.
