Freesat BBC Olympic channel numbers revealed

(updated) The BBC's Olympic channels numbers for the Freesat platform have been announced, alongside the platform operator's plans to offer a full event planner for the Olympics.

On its website, Freesat state that the Olympic channels will appear on Freesat channels 151-174 or via the red button on BBC channels.

The service will be on the Freesat EPG by no later than 25th July and will run until 12th August. The inclusion on the Freesat EPG as well as via the red button will ensure full PVR functionality on Freesat+ and Freesat+HD receivers.

Freesat will offer a full schedule planner on its special website, to help viewers plan their Olympic viewing.

The 24 HD and 24 SD simulcast channels will be hosted by Sky on the Astra satellite system, but broadcast free to air as part of a deal between the BBC and the pay TV provider, after the BBC offered the service to platform operators earlier this year.
