From 1st March, Eutelsat satellites have new names

Satellite operator Eutelsat is renaming its entire fleet of satellites with effect from 1st March 2012. The Eurobird satellite that orbits close to SES Astra series 2 satellites and transmits some of the UK's satellite channels will become "Eutelsat 28A".

Eurobird1 / Eutelsat 28A orbits at 28.5 degrees East, whereas Astra 2 satellites are at 28.2 degrees East. This is still close enough in the sky to provide additional satellite capacity for the UK and Ireland broadcasting markets, and services for Freesat and Sky with just the one satellite dish and LNB.
