TVPlayer & x-Mobility team up to offer mobile streaming to MVNOs

Mobile Virtual Network Aggregator x-Mobility has agreed a partnership with TVPlayer, which will allow the company to add TV streaming for Mobile Virtual Network Operators.

The company says the deal is a "highly valuable addition" to its portfolio of services, aimed at brands that want to start their own mobile service, which piggybacks on an established mobile network.

TVPlayer enables viewers to watch the free-to-air UK TV channels including BBC One, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Dave. It is available on desktop and a free downloadable app on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, Amazon Fire, XBOX, Roku, Windows 10 and Apple TV. TVPlayer’s 100 plus channels are now available for any brand to offer to its customers via x-Mobility’s aggregator services.

Frank Bowe, Chief Commercial Officer of TVPlayer said:
“We are seeing increasing demand for the bundling of TV with mobile services. By partnering with x-Mobility, more consumers in the UK will be able to watch live TV across a variety of mobile devices.”

X-Mobility says that as more brands choose to offer their own mobile services, differentiation will be increasingly important. Its SIM and app can be combined to provide a bespoke offer that can, for example, include multiple phone numbers and the delivery of targeted messages and offers to users, all wrapped up in bespoke branding. The company offers brands the opportunity to launch virtual network services on the Three network in the UK.

Shanks Kulam, Co-Founder and CMO of x-Mobility said:
“First and foremost x-Mobility is a mobile enabler for brands. We don’t just stop at traditional voice, text and data services. TV streaming was always the obvious next step, and now it is in the mix, we can help brands make their bespoke communications services more compelling than ever.”
