Rocks & Co announces Freeview changes
Shopping channel Rocks & Co will no longer be available to viewers with older Freeview receivers from 15th February following a change to its distribution on Freeview.
The change is due to happen around midday on Wednesday 15th February, when the service will switch to the Freeview HD platform. Although Rocks & Co will retain its current Freeview channel number, channel 40, it will be changing frequency and coverage.
Viewers with Freeview HD compatible equipment (including YouView, EE TV or Now TV Smart boxes), who can already receive 5STAR+1 on channel 55 and the QVC HD shopping channels on 111 and 112 will be able to continue to watch Rocks & Co on channel 40 from the 15th February 2017. While some Freeview HD devices are designed to automatically detect such changes, some viewers may still need to retune to continue watching.
Other Freeview viewers won't be able to see Rocks & Co on channel 40, but can watch the channel online via its official live stream. Freesat and Sky viewers aren't affected.
Rocks & Co's new signal will reach around three quarters of UK households, down from the around 90% of households currently in the coverage area. Viewers can check which Freeview channels are available at their address (with the right equipment) at https://www.freeview.co.uk/channels-at-your-address
Meanwhile, Rocks & Co is informing viewers about the changes at http://www.rocksandco.com/freeview/
Update: As of 15/02/2016, viewers with older 'dumb' receivers will see the old Rocks and Co at channel 40 unless they retune, when it will move to channel 790. Connected devices will connect to an internet stream of the channel. For clarification, Rocks and Co continues to be broadcast in standard definition on its new frequency, despite only being receivable on HD compatible receivers.
