New TV and radio reception troubleshooting tool launched by BBC
The BBC has launched an improved troubleshooting tool, aimed at helping viewers and listeners find out if there is a transmitter problem that might be affecting their reception of BBC TV and radio services.
BBC Reception's transmitter checker function allows users to enter their location in order to find out information relating to local TV and radio transmitters serving their area. The new interface provides users with information on any potential issues with TV and/or radio reception, such as a fault at a local transmitter.
A map shows the locations of nearby transmitters, any recent faults, alongside details of regional variations and frequencies of BBC services, plus a coverage prediction. Compass positions helps users identify which transmitter their TV aerial is pointing at.
With many reception problems not due to transmitter issues, the checker also provides quick tips on improving reception.
