Made in Birmingham goes live across the West Midlands on Sky
Local TV channel Made in Birmingham is now available on Sky channel 117 for viewers across the bulk of the West Midlands TV region.
Viewers from west Derbyshire, across Staffordshire, Shropshire through the West Midlands into many parts of Warwickshire and Worcestershire who receive BBC One West Midlands on Sky channel 101 and ITV Central West on 103 now have access to the channel.
The launch on Sky marks a massive boost in coverage for the station, which has until now only been available in a limited part of the West Midlands via terrestrial and cable services. The channel piggybacks on Sky's regionalisation infrastructure, previously set up for BBC and ITV regions, which are much bigger than the local TV terrestrial coverage areas.
Made in Birmingham launched late last year, replacing the old Big Centre TV channel.
In Merseyside, Made in Liverpool is also going live on Sky today for viewers in the part of the Granada TV region surrounding Liverpool and Chester.
These channels can be manually tuned in on Sky receivers for viewers outside of their regions.
