F1 2017: Which races will be free-to-air?


Sky and Channel 4 are once again sharing coverage of Formula 1 in 2017, as part of the second of a three year TV rights deal.

Coverage of the Monaco Grand Prix will be available on UK free-to-air TV for the first time in five years.

While Sky will offer its subscribers the opportunity to watch every race live and in UHD, Channel 4 will also broadcast extensive highlights of all races in the 2017 season, with all live races and highlights programmes available to watch live (simulcast) and on demand on All 4.
All live races will continue to be broadcast without advertising breaks on Channel 4.

  • 16 April: Bahrain - Live on Sky Sports F1 and free-to-air on Channel 4

  • 14 May: Spain  - Live on Sky Sports F1
  • 28 May: Monaco  - Live on Sky Sports F1 and free-to-air on Channel 4
  • 11 June: Canada  - Live on Sky Sports F1

  • 9 July: Austria  - Live on Sky Sports F1

Announcing the free-to-air F1 schedule for 2017, Stephen Lyle, Channel 4 Head of F1 said:
