East Yorkshire station KCFM launches on DAB digital radio

KCFM, a local radio station for Hull and East Yorkshire, has joined the DAB digital radio platform, with a slot on the newly expanded Lincolnshire multiplex.

The DAB version of the Lincs FM Group-owned station is a simulcast of the service carried on 99.8 MHz FM, but with a much wider coverage area. Listeners may need to do an auto-scan on their DAB radios to add the new station. Alternatively, listeners who already have Lincs FM on DAB, should switch to that station, wait a few moments and then search for KCFM in the station list.

KCFM's launch on DAB follows the addition of a new transmitter at High Hunsley in the East Yorkshire, as announced by multiplex operator MuxCo, which extends the Lincolnshire multiplex coverage area across most of East Yorkshire

Coming just over one year after the Lincolnshire local DAB multiplex was launched, the new transmitter concludes the current coverage expansion of local DAB in the area. MuxCo has published a revised coverage map showing the extent of its service, which is broadcast from four transmitters on VHF Block 12A.
