Bristol Freeview reception affected by transmitter work

One of Bristol's main TV transmitters is on reduced power to cater for engineering work at the site, ahead of a planned total shutdown on Friday 30th.

The Bristol Kings Weston site provides households across parts of Bristol, Avonmouth and Portishead with access to most Freeview channels. Reduced power will affect the transmitter's coverage area until the end of the week

On Friday 30th September 2016, a shutdown of up to 3 hours is scheduled, with TV services not available during this time. The shutdown's timing is weather dependent.

Not all viewers in the Bristol area will be affected - due to local terrain, households in  the City and surrounding area may have their aerials towards a number of other transmitter sites. Digital UK provides information on the most likely transmitters available within a postcode area at www.digitaluk.co.uk/coveragechecker .

Affected viewers are advised not to retune their devices if they lose services, as the issue is transmitter related.
