Free-to-air classic movie channel Talking Pictures TV has struck two new content deals with ITV Studios Global Entertainment and the Miramax-distributed Samuel Goldwyn and Woodfall libraries.
Filling the gap in vintage cinema left behind over a decade ago when Carlton Cinema closed, the new deals allows Talking Pictures to screen films including Henry V, Reach for the Sky, Whistle Down the Wind, In Which We Serve, The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, Hell Drivers, The Bulldog Breed, Defence of the Realm and Tarka the Otter.
In addition, Talking Pictures TV acquired 33 films from the Samuel Goldwyn and Woodfall libraries through a deal with Miramax. The agreement covers titles such as The Entertainer, Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, Look Back in Anger,Saturday Night and Sunday Morning and A Taste of Honey.
- Talking Pictures is available nationwide on Sky channel 343, Freesat channel 306, in some areas on Freeview and YouView channel 81 and has slots on local TV channels Bay TV Swansea and Latest TV Brighton.
