UPDATED | With just seven days to go, the Community Channel's fundraising effort to help it stay on air continues to fall short.
So far this month, just over 100 investors have step forward to pledge money worth around 10% of the total the Community Channel requires to stay on air. The channel wants to have raised £300,000 by Thursday 30th June, but so far just over £30,000 has been raised. A £50 investment is required to own a share in the channel, with additional perks offered to investors who put in more money.
In an update to potential investors on the Crowdfunder website, the Community Channel highlighted its low running costs, working out to be 10p per viewer for the entire year. The channel provides a voice communities and charities, nurturing new film-making, production and journalistic talent.
If £300,000 is not raised by the end of the month, the channel has said it will close.
