TVPlayer wins Videonet Connected TV Award

Streaming platform TVPlayer has this week won a prestigious Videonet Connected TV Award for its TVPlayer Plus service, which launched in October last year.

TVPlayer was presented with the award for ‘Best TV Video Service Update or Launch’ at the Connected TV Awards Ceremony in London on Wednesday, which celebrates the most innovative products and services across the TV industry.

Currently, over 600,000 unique users access the TVPlayer service every week. a516digital counts 63 free channels on the service at the moment, available via the app or the TVPlayer.com website. The Connected TV award recognises the successful launch and market impact of TVPlayer Plus, an add-on paid package including 24 additional channels, such as Discovery Channel, TLC, Eurosport 1 and Sony Movie Channel, with no contract, for £4.99 per month.

CEO and Founder of TVPlayer, Adam Smith commented:
“The extension of our TVPlayer service with TVPlayer Plus addresses the increasing demand for premium broadcast content, delivered with greater flexibility, across every device and at a lower cost than many pay-TV services. It is clear from the popularity of these services that consumers of all ages are embracing premium broadcast-led and free-to-view channels delivered through connected devices, and are willing to pay for the convenience of accessing this content anytime, anywhere and through a single app. We are thrilled to be presented with this award less than six months after launching TVPlayer Plus, and to be delivering market-leading services that are impacting and shaping the future of broadcast.”
