Three more pop-up Xmas stations coming to DAB digital radio

UTV Radio is launching three pop-up Christmas stations on digital radio, for DAB digital radio listeners in Bradford and Huddersfield, Stoke-on-Trent and Swansea.

The announcement follows hot on the heals of Global Radio's confirmation earlier this week that it was converting Smooth Extra to Smooth Xmas across the UK from this Saturday.

Ofcom has now approved the addition of the three UTV seasonal pop-up stations, in a repeat of last year's set-up. The stations will be available in their respective areas on DAB from 27th November through until 27th December 2015.

Stations and multiplexes:
  • Pulse Xmas (Bradford and Huddersfield)
  • Signal Xmas (Stoke-on-Trent)
  • The Wave Xmas (Swansea)

All three stations have been allocated 128kbps bandwidth on their respective local DAB multiplexes, according to the applications submitted to Ofcom.
