QVC Extra disappears from Freeview

Shopping channel QVC Extra has been pulled from Freeview channel 57, where it was available in areas with a local TV service.

QVC Extra was one of three channels broadcast via the local TV multiplex operated by Comux, a group of channels consisting of a local TV station, plus two quasi-national slots available to commercial TV operators. Children's channel POP remains on the other slot, on channel 125.

QVC fans can continue to watch programmes from the shopping network on Freeview channel 16 and 35, with a red button option on compatible connected devices through channel 35 providing access to QVC Beauty, Extra and Style. All QVC channels are also available via the TVPlayer service on channel 241.

  1. @ukdtt on twitter has recently tweeted that ShowBiz Tv (previously cult channel BonanzaBonanza) has been awarded an Ofcom License. Maybe Comux have pushed QVC Extra off in favour of this. Let's hope so!

    1. ShowBiz TV's licence also listed on our Freeview Updates page! The channel would most likely only return as a filler service, like Bonanza Bonanza did until Comux found another operator to take up the slot - the revenue from the national slots funds the long-term operation of the local TV multiplex (plus licence fee money used to set up the infrastructure).
