FM radio disruption for Central Scotland

National FM radio stations, broadcast across Glasgow and much of the central belt of Scotland are subject to disruption over the next few weeks.

Until 30th September 2015, FM transmissions from the Black Hill transmitter in North Lanarkshire are subject to periods of reduced power between 10:00 and 16:00 due to maintenance work required at the site.

BBC Reception Advice notes that BBC Radios 1-4 may also be subject to temporary shutdowns during this time, in order to allow engineers to work safely on the mast.

Freeview platform operator Digital UK also notes that Freeview services are subject to "possible weak signals" from the Black Hill site this week.

Additionally, engineering work is taking place at the Westerglen AM transmitter in Falkirk, meaning AM services in the same area are also likely to be subject to reduced power or shutdowns.

Services continue as normal on DAB digital radio, online and via satellite and cable platforms.
