Digital One boosts DAB coverage

Halfway through 2015, national commercial DAB digital radio multiplex operator Digital One has issued an update on its network expansion.

So far, it has switched on a further three transmitters this year.

Coverage of DAB stations including Absolute Radio, BFBS, Classic FM, LBC, Planet Rock and TalkSport has been boosted in east Kent, with the addition of a transmitter at Swingate, which went into service on 30th June.

In Pembrokeshire, Digital One is now broadcasting from a site in Haverfordwest, enhancing coverage in the south west corner of Wales.

A transmitter at Warren Heath, serving the Ipswich and Felixstowe area was brought into service at the end of May.

Two further transmitter sites will be added to the Digital One network by the end of 2015.

  1. This should be quoted in the same way as the BBC quote percentage for their DAB mux, otherwise it is impossible to compare the coverage.
