Food Network live streaming app launched

Food Network UK has partnered with Simplestream to develop and launch a bespoke streaming app and it is now available in the App Store and Google Play for both iOS and Android devices.

The app allows viewers to watch Food Network UK’s high-quality lifestyle food programming, including hit programmes such as Barefoot Contessa, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Restaurant Stakeout and Mystery Diners, live and via on-demand across multiple devices.

Dan Finch, Commercial Director of Simplestream commented, “We are proud to have built Food Network UK’s ‘all you can eat’ live TV and 7 day catch up mobile application. With the proliferation of tablets and increases in mobile viewing, broadcasters are increasingly looking for new platforms and custom media management solutions for their channels. We are confident that the new app will be a recipe for success for Food Network.”

Kate Bradshaw, VP Digital, Scripps Networks UK & EMEA said, “We have developed a sophisticated yet simple app that allows our passionate viewers to enjoy the very best of live and on-demand viewing whether they are in the kitchen, on the sofa or on their daily commute. The launch also provides our commercial partners further opportunities to engage with and deepen their relationships with our audience, as Scripps Networks UK & EMEA continues to deliver its high quality and unparalleled lifestyle content throughout the region.”
