Surrey DAB gets coverage boost into Leatherhead, Farnborough and Farnham

Local DAB in Surrey is getting a coverage boost on the 1st November, with the addition of two new transmitter sites to the network.

Multiplex operator MuxCo has confirmed that listeners will be able to receive local radio on DAB from sites Stoke D'Abernon and Hungry Hill from the beginning of next month. It will increase coverage by 147,168 new households in Leatherhead, Farnham, Farnborough and surrounding areas. The two new transmitters will also boost existing coverage.

The Surrey multiplex carries BBC Surrey, Eagle Radio, eagle 3, Redstone FM and from 15th October 2014, Sunrise Radio.

Listeners in the Farnborough, Farnham and Leatherhead area currently outside of the range of the Surrey DAB signal will need to rescan their DAB radio from 1st November to gain access to the services carried on the Surrey multiplex.

  1. In my Farnborough flat the signal is not too bad but any improvement (notably for car drivers) will be appreciated.
