Sky and Virgin Media viewers report iPlayer problems

Viewers using the BBC iPlayer on Sky have been complaining about a lack of recent programmes on the catch-up service.

Some programmes have been missing from the iPlayer on Sky, or taking ages to appear, according to users. The main desktop and mobile versions of the iPlayer are not affected by this issue.

Responding to a query on Twitter about the reduced programming available via Sky, the iPlayer team confirmed that this was something they were "still in discussions with Sky about and hope to come to a solution soon".

Meanwhile, some Virgin Media customers have been having difficulties accessing aspects of the BBC's services delivered via Virgin Media's TiVo service. The issues on cable are not believed to be linked to the Sky problem and Virgin Media is asking its customer forum members with a TiVo box who encounter issues with the service to complete a questionnaire to help diagnose the problem.

Update 07/08/2014:  The BBC has issued the following statement:
"We are aware that there are problems with programmes being published on the Sky On Demand platform and are working with Sky to determine why there is a delay in programmes being made available to audiences."
