Three more local TV stations have been given the necessary paperwork to launch a service on Freeview channel 8 in the coming months.
Local TV stations serving Belfast, Leeds plus Tyne and Wear will launch this autumn on the digital terrestrial television service after receiving their official licences from Ofcom, with Made in Leeds and Made in Tyne and Wear also launching on Sky.
- Belfast's NvTV's local TV licence commences on 29th September 2014. NvTV operated a local TV service on analogue television, and its return is timed just under two years after the station disappeared from the terrestrial airwaves at digital switchover.
- Made in Leeds has a licence that commences on 1st October 2014.
- Made in Tyne and Wear's licence commences on 15th October 2014.
Viewers in Belfast, Leeds or Tyne and Wear who already can receive services on Freeview channels 57, 67 and 75, which are transmitted on the local TV multiplex, are in the coverage areas of the new local TV services.
