Music channel Starz has extended its reach this week by launching on Freesat channel 505. Until now, the channel had only been available on Sky's Electronic Programme Guide.
The channel, now owned by CSC Media, replaces BuzMuzik on Freesat, which closed down two weeks ago. Both channels offered a similar mix of music videos and viewer interaction through photos, texts and social media messages, with the closure of BuzMuzik reducing duplication.
Starz originally launched in 2005, under the name of "Fizz" and has been owned by a number of companies before being acquired by CSC Media, who also own other music channels including Chart Show TV, Bliss and The Vault .
Starz launched during Monday 14th April on Freesat and all Freesat receivers should have added the channel automatically during the course of yesterday or overnight.
