Mono radio slot on Freeview available in April

Multiplex operator Arqiva has been offering a mono radio slot on Freeview to interested parties.

In total, 64kbps of capacity on one of its multiplexes has been set aside for a new radio station, which would launch on Freeview channel 730.

The slot is available from the 1st April 2014 for a minimum term of 12 months.

Interested broadcasters had until today to register their interest with Arqiva.

Last year, Arqiva announced an auction of 1Mbps of capacity on its multiplexes for radio and data services. No new radio stations materialised on the platform as a result of the auction. New additions Kisstory and Kiss Fresh took over from existing radio stations.
