Storm blows out TV and Radio

Today's storm is affecting TV and radio reception in parts of the UK.

Power supply problems have struck a number of Freeview relay transmitters. Scotland and  West Wales are the worst affected areas, amidst wind gusts of 90 mph.

Viewers and listeners can check potential transmitter faults in their area by visiting the Radio and Television Investigation Service website and using the Transmitter Fault Checker on the right hand side of their homepage.

  • Lost TV, but no transmitter fault reported? Some faults that have recently occurred may take a few moments to reach the website. Non-transmitter related faults will not be reported. The strong winds may also affect domestic aerial and satellite installations. Reception may be lost due to the wind misalignment the aerial/dish. Professional advice should be sought once weather conditions improve.
