New Connected TV channel Propels into Action

Propeller TV has started streaming its channel on Connected Freeview channel 229 via Arqiva's Connect TV service.

The channel describes itself as "the premium channel for the UK-China community", showing business, culture and entertainment programmes. Propeller TV states its mission "is to build bridges that strengthen cultural exchange and economic development between the UK and China."

Propeller TV is the latest in a series of channels launching on the digital terrestrial television service as a "streamed channel".

The streamed channel service works with compatible Freeview HD certified devices, which access channels via portals broadcast alongside regular Freeview channels and found in the EPG from channel 225. The portal in turn connects the viewer to the relevant services via the internet. An unlimited broadband connection of 2Mbps or more is deemed suitable.
