Jazz FM goes London-only on DAB from 2014

Jazz FM has confirmed it is closing its national service on DAB digital radio. From 1st January 2014, the station will only transmit on DAB in Greater London.

As part of the transition, Jazz FM has commenced broadcasting on the London II multiplex. Listeners in the region need to move across to the new service, which is marked "Jazz FM London" or "JazzFMLon" on DAB radio sets.

Outside of the London region, Jazz FM will continue to be available online or via Sky and Freesat.

Earlier this year, Arqiva/Digital 1 advertised for a Jazz station on the Digital 1 multiplex. It is currently a licence requirement for the multiplex to carry a Jazz station. It is not known if any organisations have come forward to operate a replacement service.
