What's available on Freeview HD?

Freeview HD is the high definition television (HDTV) component of the UK's digital terrestrial television service. The service offers access to some of the most popular UK television channels via a normal TV aerial using a receiver certified with the Freeview HD logo (pictured).

Freeview HD channels are also available to viewers with a YouView box.

Note: In some areas, notably NW England, a wideband aerial may be required for optimum reception.

In Northern Ireland, TG4, RTÉ One and Two (via Freeview channels 51-53) are available to viewers with a Freeview HD device in parts of the province, although only in standard definition. (Areas near the Irish Republic border can receive some channels in HD via the Irish 'Saorview' service instead.)

Internet services
Many current Freeview HD TV/PVR models allow you to watch additional channels via a broadband internet connection of a least 2Mbps. Streamed channels are available between Freeview channels 225-299.  There's a mixture of pay and free TV services.  Read more
