TeamRock officially launched; mono DAB not welcomed by listeners

TeamRock radio officially launched this week on DAB digital radio.

At two minutes to midnight Sunday into Monday, the new station launched with a special message of support and poetry reading by Slipknot's Corey Taylor.

The station is available on the national DAB multiplex operated by Digital One, broadcast in England, Wales and Scotland. The service will launch in Northern Ireland later this summer.

TeamRock first appeared on DAB as a test service on the 1st May. Numerous visitors to a516digital have complained about the fact that TeamRock and most other national commercial services on DAB digital radio are in mono. User "Mr GIO" stated: "I bought a portable DAB, partly for the quality but mainly for the variety of stations. Now most of them are going to mono which spoils the listening experience." Fellow DAB station Planet Rock can now be listened to in stereo in the West Midlands on FM, where it replaced Kerrang last week on 105.2 MHz.
